Police "Plan to Punish After Investigation"

A is accused of forcibly trying to open and partially opening the emergency exit of an Asiana Airlines plane that departed from Jeju and was about to land at Daegu Airport.
The police confirmed that the aircraft was landing at an altitude of about 250 meters at the time. Although there were several flight attendants on board, they could not stop A just before landing.
On the afternoon of the 26th, a man in his 30s, Mr. A, who boarded an Asiana Airlines flight from Jeju Airport to Daegu Airport, was urgently arrested by the police on suspicion of opening the aircraft door just before landing (violation of the Aviation Security Act). Due to A's actions, 12 passengers on the plane complained of symptoms such as difficulty breathing, and some were transported to the hospital.
A, who boarded alone from Jeju, was immediately arrested by the police right after landing, and was not intoxicated at the time of arrest.
A has not spoken about the motive for the crime.
The police stated, "A is in a condition that makes normal conversation difficult," and added, "We plan to investigate the motive and punish accordingly."
