‘POSCO 1% Nanum Foundation’ Selected for 3rd Year Public Project Competition
Yeongdeok-gun Family Center in Gyeongbuk (Director Ian Guk Lee) opened a night class for 'ITQ Hangul and Excel Certification Acquisition' on the 23rd for married immigrant women residing in the area who wish to find quality jobs.
Yeongdeok-gun Family Center has opened a night class for obtaining ITQ Hangul and Excel certificates.
Sponsored by the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation, this project directly supports married immigrant women to enhance the capabilities necessary for multicultural family members in POSCO and its group companies' local workplaces to settle stably in Korean society, aiming to realize a stable life for multicultural families.
As a result of the Yeongdeok-gun Family Center applying for the project operated with POSCO donations, it was selected for the third consecutive married immigrant women’s self-reliance capacity-building public project. The program is offered free of charge to improve the information technology skills of married immigrant women and support their social advancement, contributing to the realization of an inclusive sociocultural environment.
The education started on the 23rd and will be held for a total of 8 weeks at the Yeongdeok Life Culture Center every Tuesday from 7 p.m. for 2 hours. It includes basic internet skills necessary for adapting to Korean life, document creation, basics and applications of spreadsheets, and computer training for practical certification acquisition. Participants will take the nationally certified Information Technology Qualification (ITQ) regular exam conducted monthly by the Korea Productivity Center.
Ms. Kim (Vietnam), who participated in this class, said, "Since the ITQ certification exam is focused on practical fieldwork, practicing repeatedly will greatly help with work, so I will strive to achieve a high grade."
