Mr. Byeon Chang-ho, Threatened with Murder Including Family Mentioned
Coin experts who played a major role in publicizing the Kim Nam-guk incident have been receiving death threats from an unspecified number of people. The perpetrators are presumed to be coin investors.
On the 26th, Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People Power Party, revealed through his social media (SNS) that "Byun Chang-ho of 'Byun Chang-ho Coin Academy,' who exposed various corruptions in the coin market including the Kim Nam-guk incident, is receiving horrific death threats from several unidentified individuals."

Ha shared a file containing the threatening messages received by Byun. Some messages stated that "Byun Chang-ho was found as a corpse with his hands and feet cut off," and there were also threats directed at his wife. Some even sent messages threatening Byun’s family, saying, "Congratulations on 500 days. We will come with the Wemade brothers."
Ha said, "These individuals have identified Byun’s phone number, home address, and workplace, flaunted connections with political circles or specific companies, posted knife emojis, and threatened with messages like 'Tell your wife to be careful,' and 'I will cut off your hands and feet and gouge out your eyes.'" He added, "Some of this personal information includes sensitive data such as resident registration numbers, which only the police or public institutions should have access to."
He stated, "In other words, the suspected source of the leak includes state agencies," and emphasized, "A thorough investigation is needed to identify who is threatening whistleblower Byun Chang-ho with death, and state agencies must provide protection to ensure he faces no threats."
Following the Kim incident, Wi Jeong-hyun, president of the Korea Game Society who alleged a 'P2E (Play to Earn) game National Assembly lobbying scandal,' also revealed that he and his family received death threats. On the same day, he told CBS's "Kim Hyun-jung's News Show," "I received death threat emails directed at me and my family," adding, "(Immediately after receiving the emails) I went to the police station to report and requested protection. As a result, police patrol cars are currently stationed at our school in the evenings."
He explained, "After our society issued a statement, Wemade filed a criminal complaint against us for defamation and spreading false information. This is a technique commonly used in political circles called 'targeting coordinates,'” and added, "After that, an enormous amount of criticism came through SNS and other channels, such as 'You should be responsible for my losses.' Attacks that should have been directed at Wemade and CEO Jang Hyun-guk were instead redirected toward me."
The president also mentioned receiving a lengthy email implying terrorism. He said, "A long email arrived containing very brutal threats, such as 'I will deal with your neck,' threats against my family, and even specifying the building I am in and saying they would bring a gun. These were very detailed threats," adding, "They specifically identified the building I am in."
The perpetrators are an unspecified number of people, but he analyzes that they are likely coin investors. The president said, "Probably from the coin or stock sectors, it seems to be from those areas."
