Volkswagen Unveils Facelifted Touareg Model

Volkswagen has unveiled the facelifted model of its flagship sport utility vehicle (SUV), the Touareg.

The front exterior features a wider radiator grille. Except for the Basic trim, all models come standard with IQ.Light HD LED matrix headlights. This is the first time the brand has applied this feature, which includes a lane light function that projects the driving lane onto the road surface. An illuminated strip crossing from the headlights through the grille, centered on the Volkswagen logo, has been added.

The rear is characterized by an LED light bar that spans the tailgate. 19- to 21-inch alloy wheels are applied.

The new Innovision Cockpit, consisting of a 12-inch digital cockpit and a 15-inch Discover Pro Max infotainment system, is installed in all models. The two displays are connected as one. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions are also standard features.

Driving assistance systems include Travel Assist, 360-degree area view, remote parking function, and night vision function that provides clearer visibility at night. A roof load sensor is installed to optimize the electronic posture control device and electronically controlled suspension system according to the weight.

All models come standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive system.

There are four powertrain options: 3.0L V6 gasoline and diesel (231 and 286 horsepower), the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) eHybrid, and the high-performance model R eHybrid. Except for the high-performance model, each model is available in three trims: Basic, Elegance, and R-Line.

Kai Gr?nitz, Volkswagen Brand Development Board Member, stated, “The Touareg is a technological pioneer that first introduces new technologies to be applied to other Volkswagen models in the future,” and added, “The new HD LED matrix headlights that brightly illuminate the Touareg’s driving view will also be expanded to other SUV models of the brand in the future.”
