Coffee Spilled from PET Bottle Soaks Part of Suit
"Will Diligently Complete Remaining Procedures," Says Before Leaving
An incident occurred where a citizen threw a plastic bottle filled with coffee at actor Yoo Ah-in (37, real name Eom Hong-sik), who is accused of drug use, after his arrest warrant was dismissed.
Actor Yoo Ah-in (37), who is accused of drug use, frowned and looked back when someone threw a plastic bottle containing coffee from behind as he was heading to a vehicle to go home after his arrest warrant was dismissed around 11:40 p.m. on the 24th. He then got into the vehicle with a stern expression.
Lee Min-soo, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, dismissed Eom's arrest warrant around 11:30 p.m. on the 24th. Eom received the result of the warrant review at the Seoul Mapo Police Station detention center and left for home around 11:40 p.m. He also responded to reporters' questions in front of the police station.
Afterwards, Eom headed toward a vehicle with a man believed to be his manager. At that moment, a man threw a 500ml plastic bottle filled with coffee from behind. Although the bottle did not hit Eom's body, the coffee splashed and partially soaked his clothes.
Eom grimaced and kept looking in the direction from which the bottle was thrown. As Eom's pace slowed, the man beside him turned Eom's body around. Afterwards, Eom headed back to the vehicle with a stern expression.
The man who threw the coffee reportedly left the scene wearing a hooded cap.

Meanwhile, Eom is accused of using five types of drugs including marijuana, propofol, cocaine, ketamine, and zolpidem. During the police investigation, there was evidence that Eom attempted to destroy evidence, leading the police to apply for an arrest warrant.
On the day, Judge Lee stated, "It is difficult to conclude that there is a risk of evidence destruction or flight beyond the scope of exercising the right to defense," and dismissed the arrest warrant. He explained that a considerable amount of related evidence had already been secured, Eom admitted to a significant portion of the basic facts, and showed remorse for smoking marijuana. The arrest warrant for Eom's acquaintance Choi Mo (32), who was also requested for detention, was dismissed for the same reasons.
Eom told the press, "I respect and am grateful for the court's decision."
Regarding the cocaine use allegations, he said, "It is difficult to speak about the facts through the media," and added, "I will sincerely participate in the remaining procedures and provide explanations as much as possible." When asked about evidence destruction, he said, "There is absolutely no such fact."
The police stated that they plan to review the reasons for dismissal and consider whether to reapply for the arrest warrant.
