Our Story is the World's Story! ... The 17th Busan Contents Market Fully Held Offline 2023 Busan Contents Market Poster.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Busan City, the Busan Contents Market will be held under the theme "Our Stories Are the World's Stories" for three days from May 31 to June 2 at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1.

The event aims to attract 1,500 buyers and sellers from over 600 companies across 35 countries worldwide, featuring various programs such as ▲BCM Market ▲BCM Funding ▲BCM Conference ▲BCM Academy.

Notably, unlike last year, this year’s event will be held fully offline, raising expectations that attendees will vividly experience the on-site atmosphere as before the COVID-19 pandemic.

▲At the BCM Market, exhibition booths of leading domestic broadcasters such as KBS Media, MBC, SBS, CJ ENM, SLL, and KT Studio Genie will be featured, along with a Mongolian joint pavilion and a joint pavilion of the Korea Drama Production Association, energizing the core market operations of the Busan Contents Market.

Additionally, the BCM Small and Medium Enterprise Support Pavilion will be operated to support domestic small and medium-sized content producers centered in Busan, actively helping them secure export opportunities for their excellent content.

▲BCM Funding will improve its operation method to provide practical support to production companies. By integrating business matching and funding briefings, it will offer one-stop support including production company consultations, management, and investment information. Decision-makers from renowned domestic and international broadcasters, over-the-top (OTT) internet video services, and investors will be assembled to create opportunities for diverse content to receive investment.

▲The BCM Conference will be expanded to a total of 10 sessions compared to last year. This year, the production team and cast of the recently acclaimed Genie TV original drama "Paper Moon" will attend to share behind-the-scenes stories about the drama’s production process and filming episodes, directly conveying on-site experiences. Furthermore, the "LATAM in BCM" session will be organized to promote media exchange with the emerging market of Latin America and discuss strategies for Korean content to enter the Latin American market.

Moreover, Hollywood producer Dev Ross, well known to us as the writer of Disney’s animation "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" and an Emmy Award winner, will attend to present on video content rating regulations and youth protection.

Various conferences on diverse topics will also be held, including the "Artificial Intelligence Content Conference," which academically addresses the recently booming AI convergence content "ChatGPT."

▲The BCM Academy will be held offline over two days with five lectures under the theme "K-Content Global Success Cases and Strategies." Through lectures by industry experts such as producer Jang Ho-gi of the global OTT content "Physical: 100" and senior producer Jung Dae-yoon of SLL for "The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family," it is expected to be an opportunity to share information and knowledge about the trends and latest production developments in the broadcasting and video content industry.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, "I hope everyone enjoys the vibrant on-site atmosphere of the Busan Contents Market, held fully offline this year, as it was before COVID-19, and we will actively support the excellent companies participating to expand their content markets beyond Asia to the global stage."
