Doosan to Showcase Carbon-Free Energy Total Solutions at Climate Industry International Expo

Preparing Energy Solutions Including Nuclear, Hydrogen, and Wind
Domestic Debut of Hydrogen Turbine... Doosan Fuel Cell's Water Electrolysis Technology

Doosan will participate in the country's largest energy industry exhibition to showcase various energy solution technologies utilizing carbon-free energy sources such as nuclear power, hydrogen, and wind power.

Doosan announced on the 24th that Doosan Enerbility, Doosan Fuel Cell, and Doosan Fuel Cell Power BU will participate in the 'Climate Industry International Expo' held at BEXCO in Busan for three days starting on the 25th. WCE2023 is a comprehensive exhibition in the energy, climate, and environment sectors, held on the largest scale ever by integrating related events such as the previously separate 'Korea Energy Show,' 'Carbon Neutral Conference,' and 'Carbon Neutral EXPO.'

Doosan Enerbility will unveil for the first time in Korea a one-sixth scale model of a hydrogen turbine developed purely with domestic industry-academia-research collaboration at this exhibition.

In addition, they will exhibit models of main nuclear power plant equipment such as the reactor and steam generator of the Korean-designed APR1400 nuclear power plant, and promote advanced technologies for SMR manufacturing as an SMR foundry. They will also introduce a lineup of wind power generators, including an 8MW offshore wind turbine optimized for the southwestern sea environment of Korea, along with the largest domestic track record of offshore wind power equipment supply.

Furthermore, they will present key clean hydrogen technologies including ▲green hydrogen production plants linked with wind power generation ▲the country's first hydrogen liquefaction plant ▲and nuclear hydrogen production base research being conducted jointly with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power.

Doosan Fuel Cell will unveil a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) type water electrolysis system, which is preparing for commercialization in the second half of this year. This technology splits water into hydrogen and oxygen using electrical energy and can produce about 430 kg of hydrogen per day, enough to refuel around 20 hydrogen buses.

Doosan Fuel Cell will also showcase hydrogen fuel cells including power generation PAFC and ship-use SOFC currently under commercialization. Notably, the ship-use SOFC features high power efficiency and operates at 620°C, about 200°C lower than existing products, resulting in a relatively longer expected lifespan. Additionally, Doosan Fuel Cell Power BU will promote a 10 kW building-use SOFC with world-class power generation efficiency.

A Doosan official stated, "Doosan is the only domestic company capable of providing total energy solutions optimized for the carbon-neutral era, including nuclear power, hydrogen, and wind power," adding, "Through this exhibition, we will actively promote our power generation technologies and manufacturing capabilities and contribute to carbon neutrality based on these technologies."

At the exhibition held in Busan, Doosan will also conduct promotional activities for attracting the '2030 Busan Expo' through booth designs containing messages supporting the Expo bid.
