"Where Are You Going to Leave?" Baek Jong-won Helps Yesan Gukbap Street Again

Previously decided to remove 'Baek Jong-won' from Gukbap Street
but some merchants visited The Born Korea for cooking method training

Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea, who had decided to remove his name from the 'Baek Jong-won Gukbap Street' near Yesan Market, has decided to help again after meeting with some of the street's merchants.

On the 22nd, the 18th episode of "Baek Jong-won Becomes a Market Owner" was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Baek Jong-won PAIK JONG WON.' On this day, Baek Jong-won visited Yesan Market, which is about to reopen. The main content of the video was inspecting Yesan Market. Toward the end of the video, Baek Jong-won was seen meeting with the Gukbap Street merchants, listening to their difficulties, and offering advice.

Baek Jong-won met with two merchants from Gukbap Street. The merchants shared their individual hardships. In response, Baek Jong-won expressed his intention to help the merchants again.

Afterwards, the two merchants visited The Born Korea to receive cooking method training. They actively showed their willingness to improve by saying, "It's okay (to change)" in response to advice suggesting that they might need to change their main menu.

Earlier, Baek Jong-won had declared in April, after consultations with Yesan County, that his name would be removed from the Gukbap Street signboard. This decision was made due to hygiene controversies at some restaurants and the merchants' difficulties.

At that time, Baek Jong-won stated, "I felt a great burden and made efforts over several years, spending a lot of money, but it seems it was very uncomfortable for them. I think they would get upset if I said I would help. I was also deeply hurt."

In response, Baek Jong-won comforted them, saying, "Where would I be going? I'm just taking down the signboard."

The merchants, who met Baek Jong-won about a month later, expressed their difficulties, saying, "Sales are dropping too much," and "It hurts so much inside." In response, Baek Jong-won comforted them, saying, "Where would I go? I'm just taking down the signboard."

Having decided to help the merchants again, Baek Jong-won sent staff to the restaurants to assist with changing the gukbap cooking methods. One merchant, tasting the distinctly improved gukbap flavor, exclaimed, "This is game over."

Netizens responded with comments such as, "I sincerely hope they do not waste the great opportunity Baek Jong-won created out of greed and that they will achieve good results by not forgetting their original intentions and continuing to work hard," "I pray for their success and that it spreads nationwide," and "I hope Yesan Market becomes a successful case and a starting point for revitalizing local areas."
