Selected as an 'Excellent Institution' in the 2023 Disaster Management Evaluation

Songpa-gu was selected as an excellent institution in the 2023 Disaster Management Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) has been selected as an excellent institution for six consecutive years, achieving the highest number of awards among Seoul's autonomous districts, proving itself as the safest city in line with the 8th term policy goal of 'Safe Songpa.'

The Disaster Management Evaluation is conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety under Article 33-2 of the Framework Act on the Management of Disasters and Safety, to diagnose and improve the disaster management capabilities of responsible institutions at each stage and to enhance the national level of disaster management.

The 2023 Disaster Management Evaluation was composed of 36 indicators to assess the management status by disaster management stage and type, targeting a total of 338 institutions (29 central government ministries, 243 local governments, and 66 public institutions). It was professionally and comprehensively evaluated through the Central Disaster Management Evaluation Team and private expert reviews.

In particular, the selection as an excellent institution this time was highly rated in the institution head interview for Songpa's vision and commitment to disaster management, and it was the result of promoting diverse and differentiated community-based policies such as ▲ efficient disaster resource management and ▲ realization of various disaster safety-related policies.
