Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, Seoul, attended the '2023 Flood and Wind Disaster Safety Measures Report Meeting' held at 1:30 PM on the 22nd in the small conference room on the 8th floor of Nowon District Office.
The report meeting was organized to share comprehensive flood control and disaster prevention measures and major agenda implementation plans by each department in preparation for flood and wind disasters, and to discuss cooperation methods.
On this day, Mayor Oh Seung-rok, along with the Director of the Transportation and Construction Bureau, the Head of the Flood Control Division, and heads of flood and wind disaster-related departments, visited the Flood and Wind Disaster Safety Measures Headquarters, held a plaque ceremony, and conducted the safety measures report meeting to receive and closely review measures from each sector.
In particular, they focused on pre-disaster preparations such as inspections of vulnerable areas, facilities, and construction sites, flood prevention measures for semi-basement households, facility improvements to secure disaster prevention functions, resident control systems in risk areas such as rivers, landslide-prone zones, and steep slopes during heavy rain, and rapid recovery plans for damaged facilities.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok emphasized, “Damage cannot be prevented by responding well in only one area, so I hope all departments cooperate organically and work as one body to minimize damage.”
