[Harumanbo] Enjoying the Han River Atmosphere Nearby... Dangsan Station

Yanghwa Hangang Park, Roses in Full Bloom from May to June

[Harumanbo] Enjoying the Han River Atmosphere Nearby... Dangsan Station
Editor's NoteThe subway is a transportation method that anyone can easily access and travel safely, and it is also an important point for daily walking. We introduce places around subway stations that are good for walking.

Today's course is Dangsan Station on Seoul Subway Line 2. When traveling from Sindorim towards City Hall, you cross the Han River via the Dangsan Railway Bridge to reach Hapjeong Station. The view of the Han River that unfolds as the train, which was running underground, departs from Dangsan Station and crosses the river offers a brief rest to tired citizens.

As Dangsan Station is close to the Han River, it also has high accessibility to the Han River waterfront area. For the convenience of citizens, a pedestrian overpass has been built from the Line 2 concourse at Dangsan Station directly to the Han River Park, allowing easy access to the park in one go. Previously, one had to go down from the station and cross the Dangsan Underpass, which is about 120 meters away, but now the pedestrian overpass allows safe walking to the Han River Park.

Upon arriving at Han River Park, if you turn west and walk about 500 meters crossing Yanghwa Bridge, you will reach Seonyudo. Seonyudo, which was used as a water purification plant supplying tap water to the southwestern region of Seoul, was transformed into an eco-friendly ecological park in 2002. The gardens utilizing the existing purification plant facilities create a unique landscape. There is also an observatory where you can enjoy a slightly different perspective of the Han River scenery.

When leaving Seonyudo after visiting the observatory, you cross Seonyu Bridge. This beautiful bridge, called the "Rainbow Bridge," features intersecting ovals and straight lines resembling a rainbow. After crossing the Han River, if you go straight through Yanghwa Hangang Park, you will reach Seonyudo Station. If you visit here around late May to early June every year, it is worth getting off briefly at Seonyu Bridge and returning to the Han River Park. This is because the rose garden right next to it is in full bloom. Why not enjoy some leisure time taking commemorative photos with family, friends, or loved ones?
