Daichi X Aiwacha Provide Car Seat Safety Solutions and Four Free Car Seats to a Family with Quadruplets

Daichi Co., Ltd., a car seat manufacturer in South Korea, invited a family with quadruplets to its headquarters in Bangbae-dong, Seoul, on April 26 and donated four units of the OneFix360 Season 2 i-Size car seats free of charge.

Prior to this special donation ceremony, Daichi collaborated with 'AiWacha,' the only domestic community dealing with children's traffic safety and car seat information, to provide safety solutions ensuring that the quadruplets could ride safely in their car seats.

In these times of declining birth rates in South Korea, Jang Dohyun, the father of the quadruplets and a true patriot, shared, “We tried for over two years to have a child but it was difficult, so we visited a hospital. Fortunately, after a long effort, we were blessed with four children as an unexpected gift.” He added, “When the babies were newborns, we often had to go to the hospital, so we purchased a multi-passenger vehicle. However, the problem was installing the appropriate car seats. Although we devised some plans, we felt a long-term solution was necessary, so we posted an inquiry on the AiWacha community. That’s how Daichi and AiWacha stepped in together.”

Most popular vehicles distributed domestically either lack sufficient ISOFIX child seat anchors or, in the case of 7-, 9-, or 11-seater models such as minivans or SUVs with independent seats, the domestic trims make car seat installation complicated.

Moreover, even when car seats are installed, they are often installed unsafely or the ingress and egress routes are inconvenient, making car seat use very limited for families with five or more members, even if they purchase multi-passenger vehicles.

In response, Daichi and AiWacha not only provided safe car seats but also offered solutions to the quadruplet family to safely install and operate four car seats.

Daichi’s 2023 new product, the OneFix 360 Season 2, meets the European car seat safety standard i-Size certification and is the world’s first product to protect passengers under severe accidents through real vehicle crash tests, offering extreme safety.

Additionally, thanks to its compact size, it requires minimal space inside the vehicle, allowing adult guardians to move within the vehicle even after installing the car seats.

The operator of the AiWacha car seat information cafe stated, “Until now, people have purchased vehicles based only on seating capacity, but in reality, families with five or more members have been unable to use car seats or have had to modify their vehicles unsafely. Going forward, we hope users will strictly follow the correct installation methods and usage instructions in vehicle and car seat manuals. We also hope that domestic vehicles will be released with ample car seat installation measures, similar to export models.” He added, “We also hope domestic car seat manufacturers will continue to develop safe and compact car seats.”

Meanwhile, a Daichi representative said, “Daichi has been researching and developing car seats for 22 years with the goal of child safety. In particular, to provide safer car seats for children, we conducted the world’s first real vehicle crash test on the 2023 new OneFix 360 Season 2 i-Size. This test was conducted solely to evaluate car seat safety, and the results, including videos and evaluation reports, were shared with AiWacha, showing favorable outcomes under the R129 standard (i-Size certification).” He continued, “Daichi plans to continue releasing a variety of products that combine safety and convenience, and we will spare no effort in education and promotion so that children can safely use car seats from newborns up to a height of 145cm, when they can use adult seat belts.”

He also stated, “Feeling a great responsibility as a domestic car seat manufacturer amid the rapidly declining birth rate and demographic cliff, we will prepare affordable products with the highest safety to reduce the burden on households. In the future, we will continue to support families in special situations, such as those with quadruplets, contributing to social responsibility and enhancing our brand image.”
