Secondary Battery and Electric Vehicle Battery Module
Wishing Success in Technology Development and Product Mass Production
SeAH Mechanics held a safety prayer ceremony on the 19th at its headquarters in Gumi (located in Gongdan-dong) regarding the mass production investment of secondary batteries and battery modules for electric vehicles.
SeAH Mechanics held a safety prayer ceremony together with Kim Jang-ho, Mayor of Gumi, Cho Chang-hyun, CEO, and Kim Young-sik, Member of the National Assembly.
The safety prayer ceremony was attended by about 60 stakeholders including Kim Jang-ho, Mayor of Gumi, Cho Chang-hyun, CEO, and Kim Young-sik, Member of the National Assembly, and proceeded in the order of opening, congratulatory speeches, welcoming remarks, and ritual rites.
The safety prayer ceremony held today was organized in line with the expansion of orders in the automotive electronics sector ahead of the completion scheduled for the end of May 2023, with a 35 billion KRW investment in factory expansion. SeAH Mechanics plans to hire an additional 35 employees and install and operate production facilities by the second half of 2024.
SeAH Mechanics, rooted in the local community, started as SeAH Industry in 1999 and has grown into a specialized company supplying cutting-edge display IT components, eco-friendly hydrogen vehicles, and secondary battery parts for electric vehicles based on aluminum die-casting technology.
The die-casting method is a casting technique where metal is injected into a mold machined to exactly match the required casting shape, producing castings identical to the mold.
Its main products include secondary battery module parts and components for eco-friendly hydrogen vehicles and internal combustion engine vehicles. With the continuous growth of the secondary battery market, the company is preparing for a second leap forward due to increased demand in the battery pack parts industry.
Additionally, it is a strong small and medium-sized enterprise receiving calls of love from major global clients such as LG Energy Solution, Volvo, Audi, Ford, and Hyundai Kia Motors.
Mayor Kim Jang-ho said, “I sincerely support SeAH Mechanics’ pioneering of new paths in the eco-friendly electric vehicle secondary battery module sector and its challenge to become the global number one in die-casting,” adding, “The city will mobilize comprehensive administrative power to support SeAH Mechanics and help the Gumi National Industrial Complex become a cluster for material, parts, and equipment companies.”
