Omnius "2.5x Increase in Commerce Purchase Conversion Rate with Hyper-Personalized AI"
Fashion is said to be a means of expressing oneself, but not many people confidently "style" themselves. It is more common to see people hesitating for a long time over clothes they like in a shopping mall. People tend to worry not only about whether the clothes suit them but also about how others will perceive them. However, simply following trends often results in a "lack of individuality." One must be able to coordinate fashion sensibly, considering physical characteristics, seasons, and weather. Although we wear clothes every day, dressing well is difficult.
Omnius is an artificial intelligence (AI) company that solves these common concerns everyone has. They introduced a service that offers personalized fashion styling suggestions to e-commerce users through their self-developed hyper-personalized AI solution. The goal is for AI to act as a personal stylist for everyone.
Omnius was founded in 2015. The core team consists of KAIST AI lab graduates with master's and doctoral degrees who have won the DARPA Robotics Challenge (DRC) and received awards in global image recognition competitions. From the early stages of the company, they focused on hyper-personalized AI. Hyper-personalization involves understanding users' preferences and interests in daily life and reflecting them in algorithms.
Omnius’s flagship product, "Omnicommerce," partners with e-commerce platforms and provides the core hyper-personalized AI solution to companies in the form of SaaS (Software as a Service). It automatically identifies the attributes of products users are interested in and displays similar items. Customers using Omnicommerce include over 100 companies such as The Hyundai, Lotte ON, LF, Ably, Brandy, and W Concept, covering more than 80% of major domestic commerce platforms. Omnius explained that this has led to results such as a 140% increase in purchase conversion rates, a 210% increase in product click rates, and a 250% increase in customer dwell time.
Last month, Omnius launched the "AI Styling Recommendation Service," which analyzes users' fashion preferences and suggests coordinated products, and "StyleChat," a conversational AI agent on KakaoTalk that recommends fashion styling. The AI Styling Recommendation Service is provided to e-commerce companies and automatically generates and suggests "coordination sets" rather than single items to their users. It applies self-supervised learning with large-scale AI technology based on massive data. The service analyzes customers' shopping patterns and preferences through data and incorporates the latest trends and style feedback from fashion experts to enhance satisfaction. StyleChat combines Omnius’s self-developed hyper-personalized AI and fashion image learning AI with ChatGPT to offer personalized fashion suggestions and assist with shopping.
Since this year, Omnius has been targeting overseas markets by acquiring global customers. They are also continuously exploring new forms of commerce that provide more personalized conversational shopping experiences by combining ChatGPT with their own AI. In the long term, they plan to enter the hyper-personalized retail media advertising market. They are preparing to leap forward as a hyper-personalized commerce media platform company by leveraging their AI solutions. Jeon Jae-young, CEO of Omnius, said, "Although AI is widely used in various fields, in commerce, especially in fashion, the general public is experiencing new purchasing experiences through AI," adding, "Hyper-personalized AI will become an essential technological strategy for e-commerce companies to increase market share and improve profitability."
