Muan-gun "After Work, We Become Students"

First School Day of Muan Starlight Forum Education

Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 19th that it held the first session of the after-work education program, ‘Muan Starlight Forum 1st Education,’ on the 18th to create an atmosphere focused on learning through after-work education aimed at enhancing employee capabilities and cultivating job-related skills.

The Starlight Forum is an educational program designed to strengthen job competencies through mutual work study by inviting instructors from affiliated institutions of Jeollanam-do. It is highly anticipated as it can greatly assist both individuals and the county administration in carrying out their duties.

Additionally, the Starlight Forum was established under the slogan, ‘After work, we become students,’ to meet the demand of ‘Toetudent’ (a newly coined term combining ‘to leave work’ and ‘student’), who actively dedicate themselves to self-development and learning instead of going home after work.

For the first session, an instructor from the Jeollanam-do Cultural Foundation was invited to conduct mutual work study on topics related to cultural arts, cultural heritage, and key projects promoted by the Cultural Foundation. The second session, focusing on mudflat festivals and mudflat preservation, is scheduled for the 25th.

A county official stated, “As this is the first year of this educational policy aimed at responding to the diversifying administrative environment and cultivating innovative capabilities among public officials to foster creative and innovative attitudes, we hope it will be a meaningful education. We also hope that employees will voluntarily participate to broaden their learning horizons.”

Governor Kim San encouraged the employees who actively attended the sessions late after work instead of going home, saying, “Through these lectures, I hope this will be a meaningful time where everyone participates in self-development and the development of Muan, just like the slogan ‘Make Muan bigger, make my life higher.’”
