Dongjak-gu, Hotdool Hotdool Seoul Dongjak Early Childhood Sports Team Officially Launches
Sports team operated for 486 children at 23 daycare centers... Regular physical activity support
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Ilha) will actively promote the Hotdool Hotdool Seoul Dongjak Early Childhood Sports Team, which supports regular physical activities for young children, starting in May.
Until November, 486 children from 23 daycare centers will travel weekly to professional sports facilities to engage in various recreational sports activities.
Four public and private sports facilities in the area will assign professional instructors for six disciplines including swimming, yoga, gymnastics, and indoor futsal, teaching children proper exercise methods to prevent safety accidents.
The ‘Hotdool Hotdool Seoul Dongjak Early Childhood Sports Team’ is a Seoul city public project where sports facilities and daycare centers cooperate to support young children's recreational sports activities.
It helps children aged 3 to 5 in daycare centers experience various play-based physical activities to develop physical functions, thinking skills, and sociality.
The district was selected for the project for the second consecutive year following last year, and thanks to the program's popularity, secured additional district budget this year to expand the project scale to twice that of last year.
Additionally, from May 15 to 19, the district held an induction ceremony for participating daycare centers. The ceremony included reading a declaration and awarding membership cards, encouraging the members to take pride and actively participate as part of the Dongjak Early Childhood Sports Team.
Park Ilha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, stated, "Participation in the Early Childhood Sports Team is expected to contribute not only to improving children's physical abilities but also to their emotional development," adding, "We will continue to do our best for the healthy and happy growth of children."
