Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun Participates in Drug Crime Prevention 'NO EXIT' Relay Campaign

This campaign was initiated to raise awareness of the dangers of drug addiction throughout society and to promote vigilance in order to prevent drug crimes.

The campaign proceeds by taking a photo with an image containing the phrase "No Exit Maze, NO EXIT Drugs, Never Start," then uploading it to social networking services (SNS) and nominating two people to join the campaign.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun, who participated in the campaign that day, nominated Ha Yoon-soo, the superintendent responsible for education in Busan, and Byun Jeong-seok, president of the Busan Pharmaceutical Association, as the next participants.

Mayor Park said, "Youth drug addiction is particularly harmful compared to adults in terms of brain development and dependency, so I am asking these two individuals who can raise awareness among them to join the campaign." He added, "Recently, drug addiction has emerged as a serious social problem regardless of social class, so our city has established and is implementing a plan to strengthen drug management to protect Busan citizens. We will continue to do our best to create a 'safe Busan without drugs.'"

The 'Drug Management Strengthening Plan' established and implemented by the city includes comprehensive measures for prevention, monitoring, and treatment such as safe management of medical narcotics, activation of treatment and protection systems for drug addicts, expansion of education on youth drug misuse and abuse, and strengthening cooperation with other institutions. Ultimately, the goal is to create a safe urban environment free from drugs.
