Yeongdeok-gun Environmental Sanitation Division, Working Hard to Help with Rural Labor

Employees of the Environmental Sanitation Division in Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk, visited local farms facing labor shortages due to the busy farming season on the 10th and carried out volunteer activities to assist with farm work.

Yeongdeok-gun Environmental Sanitation Department is working hard to help apple farming households with their labor.

During this volunteer activity, 11 employees from the Environmental Sanitation Division performed fruit thinning at an apple orchard in Nakpyeong-ri, Jipum-myeon, and gathered opinions from local farmers, experiencing the realities of rural life firsthand.

Kim Jeong-won, head of the Environmental Sanitation Division, said, “I deeply felt that not only the advancing aging population but also recent price increases and high wages are significant burdens on agriculture and rural areas. In difficult times, through acts of helping and sharing, we will continue to carry out volunteer activities so that our agriculture and rural communities can regain vitality.”
