Park Ji-hyun: "My Sexual Harassment Post Also in 'Jaemyeong's Village'... Lee Jae-myung Should Withdraw"

Former Emergency Committee Chairperson of the Democratic Party, Park Ji-hyun, requested Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, to withdraw from the community 'Jaemyung's Village,' where Lee's most fervent fandom gathers.

On the 17th, Park said on YTN's 'News King Park Ji-hoon' that "One of the most urgent things Lee Jae-myung can do, though it may seem trivial, is to withdraw from 'Jaemyung's Village.'"

He added, "(Withdrawing from Jaemyung's Village) would be a symbolic gesture showing the public that the Democratic Party is breaking away from the extreme fandom, which could serve as a signal flare. Also, it is now most necessary for Lee to sincerely apologize once again to the public, truly reform, take proper responsibility, and demonstrate his decisive leadership to the lawmakers who have done wrong."

Park pointed out the seriousness of fandom politics centered around 'Jaemyung's Village.' He said, "On the petition board in Jaemyung's Village, there have been campaigns for the withdrawal of lawmakers called the Non-Myeong faction. Although it seems less so these days, until very recently, I understand that numerous sexually harassing posts about me were posted." He added, "To overcome the currently shaken leadership, Lee must show a complete break from fandom politics, double standards, and leniency."

Regarding the calls for 'reconfirmation' of trust in Lee, he said, "I don't think this is the time to talk about reconfirmation of trust. Rather, it is a time to lend support." He continued, "However, that support should not be the strengthening of the hardline fandom's power, nor the protection of corrupt aides, but rather the power to properly reform the party and improve people's daily lives."

On the previous day, Park also called for the disbandment of 'Cheoreomhoe,' a pro-Lee faction within the party, through social media. He said, "Leaving the Democratic Party as it is now is, in my view, a crime against history," adding, "The hardline supporters, Cheoreomhoe who listens to and acts on their stories, and the YouTubers colluding with them are destroying the democracy of the Democratic Party."

He stated, "I believe the two pillars supporting the Democratic Party are democracy and morality. Both are now on the verge of collapse," and added, "Honestly, I think the public is about to pronounce the death sentence on the Democratic Party, and I am quite worried that the situation is too complacent."
