Corporate Innovation and Social Responsibility Amid Environmental Changes
Dongwon Group announced on the 16th that it will invite Sam Richard, a world-renowned scholar and professor at Pennsylvania State University in the United States, to its headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 18th for a special lecture for its executives and employees as part of the 'Dongwon Thursday Seminar.'
Professor Sam Richard is well known for his communication-centered teaching method that draws out students' capabilities and has greatly influenced the spread of the value of Korea and Hallyu in the United States. He conducts one of the largest lectures in the U.S. on the topic of 'Race, Gender, and Cultural Relations' and has also won the prestigious Emmy Award.
This special lecture will examine the social responsibilities of Korean companies like Dongwon Group amid the crisis of environmental changes caused by economic growth, and will be conducted in a format that allows free discussion with executives and employees about innovative and creative solutions to overcome the crisis.
The Dongwon Thursday Seminar, which began in 1974, has been held a total of 2,277 times including Professor Sam Richard's lecture. It is held every Thursday to help executives and employees pursue self-development in various fields. Previously, the seminar featured lectures by the late honorary chair professor Lee O-ryeong of Ewha Womans University, poet Park Nohae, and Professor Kim Nando of Seoul National University, among others.
