Product Price Supported 80~90%, Applications Accepted Until June 23
Ulsan City is promoting the 'Information and Communication Assistive Device Distribution Project' for people with disabilities who have difficulty accessing information.
The Information and Communication Assistive Device Distribution Project supports the purchase of information and communication assistive devices suitable for different types of disabilities so that people with disabilities can conveniently use various information devices, including computers.
The supported items include ▲66 types such as optical character readers and reading magnifiers for visually impaired persons ▲22 types such as touch monitors, special keyboards, and special mice for persons with physical and brain lesions disabilities ▲37 types such as video phones and voice amplifiers for persons with hearing and speech disabilities, totaling 125 types.
The support target is 170 people with disabilities whose registered address is in Ulsan. The support amount covers 80-90% of the product price, and the remaining 10-20% is borne by the individual.
In the case of general persons with disabilities, individuals bear 20% of the product price, but for basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty class persons with disabilities, they only need to pay 10% of the product price for products under 1.5 million KRW, and for products exceeding 1.5 million KRW, they pay a combined amount of a basic 100,000 KRW plus 5% of the amount exceeding 1 million KRW.
Applicants must submit the application form along with the required documents to the Ulsan City Informatization Office by June 23.
Ulsan City will conduct document screening, in-depth counseling, and expert evaluation for applicants, select and announce the final distribution recipients on July 19, and after confirming the payment of the individual burden, distribute the information and communication assistive devices by the end of September.
The Information and Communication Assistive Device Distribution Project has been implemented since 2009 to help improve the quality of life by expanding economic and social participation opportunities for persons with disabilities and bridging the information gap, and Ulsan City has distributed a total of 1,603 units.
