Gyeongbuk Pohang Medical Center conducted the "Visiting Happiness Hospital" at the Ulleung Hanmaeum Hall multipurpose room from the 10th to the 11th to provide medical services and secure a health safety net for the medically vulnerable and local residents on Ulleungdo.
Pohang Medical Center operates the "Visiting Happiness Hospital" at the Ulleung Hanmaeum Hall for residents, providing preventive education and medical checkups.
About 20 medical personnel, including specialists in internal medicine, orthopedics, neurology, and Korean medicine, participated in this medical service, providing essential medical services ranging from basic check-ups to various treatments. Approximately 100 Ulleung County residents received disease prevention education and medical examinations.
Additionally, those with suspected findings identified during this medical service were able to continue receiving examinations at the Ulleung County Health Medical Center. Medically vulnerable individuals requiring detailed examinations and additional treatment were connected to the "Medical Safety Net for Vulnerable Groups" service.
Ham In-seok, director of Pohang Medical Center, has been operating the "Visiting Happiness Hospital" since 2012 in cooperation with Gyeongsangbuk-do, touring seven cities and counties in the eastern region of Gyeongbuk with a specially designed examination bus to provide medical services to residents in medically underserved areas with limited access to healthcare.
Nam Han-kwon, Ulleung County Governor, stated, "We will do our best to secure the basic health rights of county residents by providing proactive preventive medical services that care for the medically vulnerable."
