On the 10th (local time), the New York Post reported that 34-year-old Christina Ashton Gurkani died of a heart attack at a hospital in California. She was a model mainly active on social media and was well known as a look-alike of the world-famous model and actress Kim Kardashian.
According to the report, Gurkani suffered this fate after receiving illegal silicone injections to have buttocks similar to Kim Kardashian’s. She requested the procedure from a 50-year-old woman without a medical license, who injected silicone multiple times into Gurkani’s buttocks at a hotel in California where Gurkani was staying on the 19th of last month. The reason why Gurkani chose this illegal method is unknown.

Gurkani began experiencing health problems shortly after the procedure and died of a heart attack at a California hospital on the 20th of last month, one day after the procedure.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Oveng explained in an interview with the weekly magazine People, "Silicone or foreign substances injected through such illegal procedures can move inside the body, leading to infections or deformities in parts of the body. Like all injections, they can also enter the bloodstream," adding, "If they enter the bloodstream, they can block blood vessels and cause necrosis."
Local police are investigating the woman who injected silicone into Gurkani, believing that Gurkani died due to complications from the illegal procedure. The police plan to charge the woman with unlicensed medical practice causing serious bodily injury and involuntary manslaughter.
