Kim Dae-gi: "Nursing Act, Stakeholders' Positions Not Fully Considered"

Opening Remarks at the High-Level Party-Government Council "Unilateral Reflection of Interests Not Desirable" Criticized

During the high-level party-government meeting held on the 14th to discuss the Nursing Act and jeonse fraud, Kim Dae-gi, Chief of Staff to the President, pointed out that the Nursing Act bill "reflecting only one party's interests is not desirable."

In his opening remarks at the high-level party-government meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Jongno-gu, Seoul, Kim said, "Regardless of the content of the bill, it is undesirable for only one party's interests to be reflected through power without sufficiently gathering the positions of stakeholders in the procedure."

He added, "It is a painful issue that conflicts between professional groups are intensifying," and urged, "Please discuss this thoroughly at today's high-level party-government meeting."

Regarding the first anniversary of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, he said, "Looking back on the past year, I personally felt that our society is truly sick and abnormal."

Kim raised his voice, saying, "Recently, economic crimes such as jeonse fraud, funds, coins, stock manipulation, and illegal loans are hurting ordinary people and young people who are trying to live honestly," and "At construction sites, behaviors that make it unclear whether they are labor unions or gangs are occurring."

He further pointed out, "Due to policies like nuclear phase-out, the economy has lost vitality, national debt has increased significantly, and fake news has also increased," and "Spies receiving orders from North Korea have infiltrated public institutions, and even young high school students are reaching out to drugs, creating a dangerous situation."

He emphasized, "A sick and abnormal society will eventually collapse, and the greatest victims are ordinary people and the youth."

Kim said, "The government has done its best to normalize abnormalities over the past year, but it seems there is still more to do," adding, "We need to correct wrong policies that caused abnormalities, such as real estate taxation, restore the broken rule of law, and revive the market economy."

He continued, "Completely restoring the trilateral alliance between Korea, the U.S., and Japan, thereby strengthening both security and economic foundations, is something I think was very well done. We also achieved the attraction of tens of trillions of won in oil money from Middle Eastern countries," emphasizing, "Although there have been many changes and achievements, there is still a long way to go before the public can feel them."

He added, "The three major reform tasks for future generations have not crossed the National Assembly walls and have not yet been fully launched," and said, "Although the domestic and international environment is not favorable, I believe that if the party and government unite and do their best to normalize the country, the people will also come together to support it."
