The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on this day, 19,352 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, bringing the total to 31,396,699. This is 637 fewer than the previous day (19,989). Compared to a week ago on the 6th (11,801), it increased by 7,551.


The daily new cases for the week from the 7th to this day were 14,735 → 8,155 → 21,675 → 23,515 → 20,571 → 19,989 → 19,352, with a weekly average of 18,284 cases per day.


Among the new cases on this day, 30 were imported cases, and 19,322 were domestic infections.


By region (including imported cases), the number of confirmed cases were: Gyeonggi 5,415, Seoul 4,574, Incheon 1,242, Busan 958, Gyeongnam 952, Chungnam 720, Jeonnam 660, Daegu 639, Chungbuk and Gyeongbuk each 596, Jeonbuk 578, Gangwon 575, Daejeon 570, Gwangju 552, Jeju 292, Ulsan 277, Sejong 139, and quarantine 17.


As of midnight on this day, the number of critically ill patients hospitalized was 153, unchanged from the previous day. The number of deaths reported the previous day was 6, which is 2 fewer than the day before. The cumulative death toll is 34,597, with a cumulative fatality rate of 0.11%.
