Consolation and Support for Gyeongbuk Residents
City, Committed to Wildfire Damage Recovery Efforts
Yeongju City in Gyeongbuk received a donation of 10 million KRW from the Gyeongbuk Province Mayors and County Governors Association (Chairman Lee Kang-deok, Mayor of Pohang) to support the restoration of the wildfire damage that occurred last month in Pyeongeun-myeon.
Gyeongbuk Province Mayors and County Governors Council Donated 10 Million Won in Relief Funds for Yeongju Wildfire Damage.
According to Yeongju City, Son Byung-bok, Uljin County Governor (General Secretary of the Association), visited Yeongju City Hall on the 12th and met with Vice Mayor Song Ho-jun to deliver the donation and exchange opinions on the current status of the wildfire damage and restoration plans.
Vice Mayor Song Ho-jun, who received the donation, said, “We are grateful for the warm condolences and active support sent from the cities and counties of Gyeongbuk Province,” and added, “We will do our best to restore the damage caused by the wildfire as soon as possible.”
Additionally, the Korea Association of Mayors, County Governors, and District Heads (Representative Chairman Jo Jae-gu, Mayor of Nam-gu, Daegu) is also scheduled to deliver a support fund of 5 million KRW to Yeongju City for wildfire damage restoration.
Yeongju City was declared a special disaster area due to the significant damage caused by the wildfire that occurred on April 3 in the Oun-ri area of Pyeongeun-myeon, burning 210 hectares of forest.
