Nexon announced on the 12th that it has donated 150 million KRW to the Purme Foundation to support the independence of young adults with developmental disabilities, in collaboration with the online game "Mabinogi" and the Nexon Foundation.
This donation is an extension of the social contribution campaign "Sharing Mom, Together Farm," which has been carried out in "Mabinogi" since last year. The funds will be delivered to Purme Social Farm, a workplace for young adults with developmental disabilities under the foundation, and the Mui Forest Cafe, to be used for various operating expenses, product development, and activities to improve awareness of developmental disabilities.
Starting with the donation, "Mabinogi" will continue the "Sharing Mom, Together Farm" campaign this year as well. Support, which was previously centered on Purme Social Farm, will be actively expanded to the Mui Forest Cafe. This includes supporting the development of bakery and beverage menus using the "Mabinogi" IP, and creating a space inside the cafe for exhibiting and selling goods to welcome visitors. Additionally, Purme Social Farm plans to release "Mabinogi" packages both online and offline this year to help sell agricultural products harvested by young farmers.
Furthermore, "Mabinogi" plans to support the expansion of volunteer activities and experiential programs to improve awareness of young adults with developmental disabilities, and actively participate in volunteer activities that have been ongoing since last year. In fact, Director Min Kyung-hoon and 30 members of the "Mabinogi" development team visited Purme Social Farm and Mui Forest Cafe after the donation ceremony to volunteer by helping with tomato harvesting, stem removal, and environmental cleanup, assisting the work of young adults with developmental disabilities.
Min Kyung-hoon, Nexon Director, stated, "We want to continue the 'Sharing Mom, Together Farm' campaign this year to give back and repay the love and interest that Millesians send to society," adding, "We will continue to support and encourage young adults with developmental disabilities in various fields so that the happy smiles from 'Mabinogi' can be delivered to a wider world."
Meanwhile, Purme Social Farm is Korea's first workplace for young adults with developmental disabilities based on smart farms, consisting of the bakery cafe Mui Forest, an education and cultural center, and more. In April last year, "Mabinogi" signed an agreement with Purme Social Farm and has been conducting various social contribution activities to support the independence of young adults with developmental disabilities both online and offline through the "Sharing Mom, Together Farm" campaign.
