Signed Business Agreement with Masan YMCA
The Changwon Special City Council in Gyeongnam signed a business agreement with Masan YMCA on the 11th to strengthen the formation and operation of the Changwon City Children's Council.
The Changwon City Council stated that the agreement was made to realize children's participation rights based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and to create a child-friendly Changwon City.
According to the city council, under this agreement, Masan YMCA will recruit and select 30 child council members aged 11 to 18 who reside or attend school in Changwon City, and will operate standing committees, elect the chairperson group, and hold meetings.

The Changwon City Council plans to provide a platform for sharing policy proposals between the standing committees and child council members and support the meeting system for policy presentation sessions.
The Children's Council will start with an inauguration ceremony on the 17th and, through a total of 10 standing committee meetings and education to strengthen democratic capabilities, will discover agendas and propose policies.
The matters discussed in the Children's Council will be delivered to the relevant city departments, reviewed by the departments, and reflected in the city's child policies.
Chairman Kim I-geun said, "I am pleased to cooperate with Masan YMCA to expand the policy participation base of local children," and added, "We will actively support children to grow into healthy members of a democratic society on their own."
