Pukyong National University, Joint Launch Ceremony of Peace and Social Contribution Volunteer Groups

On the morning of the 11th, Pukyong National University held a joint launch ceremony for the student volunteer groups in the large conference room on the 2nd floor of the university headquarters.

A total of 109 participants attended the event, including 36 members of the student peace volunteer group ‘Pukyong UN Supporters’ and 73 members of the local volunteer group ‘PKNU Social Contribution Volunteer Group.’

The Pukyong UN Supporters plan to carry out volunteer activities that spread the importance of peace, such as visiting surviving Korean War veterans and their families both domestically and abroad to express gratitude.

Since its first group in 2009, the Supporters have visited the nearby UN Memorial Park to lay flowers and pay respects, and they support events such as the UN Fallen Soldiers Memorial Ceremony and the UN World Peace Day commemorations.

Students from the Pukyung UN Supporters and the PKNU Social Contribution Volunteer Group are holding an inauguration ceremony.

The PKNU Social Contribution Volunteer Group conducts various volunteer activities to support vulnerable groups in the community and address local issues, including home repairs for neighbors, briquette sharing, and helping with farm and fishing village work.

They also collaborate with local organizations such as the Youth Recovery Center and Aloysio Base 1968 to support vulnerable youth through learning assistance, mentoring, and experiential activities, helping them achieve independence.
