On the 11th, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters held a 'Foreign Worker Fire Safety Cooperation Meeting' at the video conference room of the headquarters building in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, where they discussed cooperation measures with employers and related organizations.
About 20 people attended the meeting, including Cho Sun-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, fire officials, foreign employers, organizations supporting foreigners in Gyeonggi-do, Kang Hee-jung, director of the Gyeonggi-do Foreign Policy Division, and Lee Chang-woo, professor of Fire Protection and Disaster Prevention at Soongsil University.
At the meeting, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters explained the comprehensive fire safety plan for foreigners promoted by Gyeonggi Fire and exchanged opinions on cooperation measures.
The comprehensive fire safety plan consists of ▲fire prevention measures for foreigners ▲establishment of a rapid response system ▲establishment of a safety culture together with foreigners ▲provision of safety and welfare services for foreigners, presenting a comprehensive safety strategy for fire prevention among foreigners.
Cho Sun-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "We will reflect the various opinions raised today in fire safety policies to ensure that foreign workers no longer suffer from fire-related damages," adding, "We will continue to cooperate with related organizations."
