According to Seo-gu on the 11th, Aquarobics is a compound word combining "aqua," meaning water, and "aerobics." It is an aerobic exercise that utilizes resistance and buoyancy in water, offering significant benefits such as joint protection, muscle strengthening, improved cardiopulmonary function, and reduced body fat.

This program will be operated in collaboration with the Sangmu National Sports Center, which opened at the end of March, and will take place in the indoor swimming pool on the first floor. It will run twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays / 11:20 AM to 12:20 PM) for four months from July 1st to September 26th.

The recruitment target is Seo-gu residents with a body fat percentage of 30% or higher, and applications can be made by phone to the Seo-gu Public Health Center's Health Promotion Team.

Seo-gu will finalize the participants through a preliminary health behavior survey and tests including blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol. Along with professional aquarobics instructors, the program aims to induce body fat reduction and provide various educational materials on nutrition and moderate drinking to help maintain continuous healthy lifestyle habits.

Additionally, a follow-up test will be conducted after the program to compare the reduction in health risk factors.

A Seo-gu official said, "We are excited to promote the aquarobics program in the pleasant environment of the Sangmu National Sports Center, and we will continuously encourage participation to lead residents in practicing healthy living."
