Namhye-gun, Gyeongnam Province, operates seven tourist taxis year-round for small groups of tourists to travel around Namhye-gun using taxis. The tourist taxis are operated to compensate for the region's weak public transportation.

The tourist taxi drivers act as guides, providing customized services such as introducing tourist attractions and recommending popular restaurants while following the routes pre-determined by the tourists.

Tourist taxis are available to any tourists registered outside the area, and those wishing to use the service must make a reservation at least seven days in advance through the Namhye-gun Culture and Tourism website or the Namhye-gun Tourism Promotion Division.

Namhye-gun assigns drivers and matches tourists with tourist taxi guides. The usage fee is 60,000 KRW for the first four hours, with an additional 20,000 KRW charged for each extra hour. Entrance fees to tourist sites, experience fees, parking fees, and other expenses are to be borne by the tourists.

Additionally, according to the revised implementation of the "2023 Namhye-gun Tourist Attraction Incentive Support Project," small groups of tourists (2 to 4 people) traveling using Namhye-gun taxi tourist taxis after the 8th of this month will receive 10,000 KRW in Hwajeon currency per group on the day of travel until the budget is exhausted.

Jung Joong-gu, head of the Tourism Promotion Division, stated, "Through tourist taxis, we aim to provide customized services to travelers to enhance their convenience and promote regional economic revitalization by attracting more tourists. Depending on the usage results in the first half of the year, if there are many users, we will recruit additional tourist taxi guides in the second half to further activate the tourist taxi service."
