Amit Kumar, the Ambassador of India to Korea, and his delegation visited the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government Office on the 10th to discuss the activation of exchanges at the local government level, including friendly cooperation between Gyeongbuk Province and Indian state governments.
To mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India, the world's 5th largest economic power, and Korea, Gyeongbuk Province invited the Indian Ambassador to Korea to promote a more advanced level of exchange with India. On this day, Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, held in-depth discussions to collaborate in various fields such as attracting foreign talent, trade, and investment, which are key projects of Gyeongbuk.

Despite COVID-19, India recorded a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 3.4 trillion dollars and an economic growth rate of 6.8% in 2022, emerging as a new global production base.
Additionally, India, with a population of approximately 1.42 billion, the world's largest population, possesses a huge domestic market, making it a land of opportunity for Korean companies.
Amit Kumar, the Ambassador of India to Korea, said, “India has recorded an average annual economic growth rate of 7.95% over the past two years and is a country with great growth potential, with a population exceeding 1.4 billion. We hope to achieve continuous development together in various fields through strengthened exchanges with Gyeongbuk Province.”
Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, said, “We will make this 50th anniversary of Korea-India diplomatic relations the new starting point for exchanges between Gyeongbuk Province and India, and build a multifaceted friendly cooperative relationship that goes beyond administrative exchanges between local governments to include inviting excellent foreign talent and traditional cultural exchanges, which will be on a different level from before.”
