Professor Gwak Junsik of the Department of Business Administration at Dongseo University has been inaugurated as the 31st president of the Korean Marketing Management Association.
The Korean Marketing Management Association was founded in 1991 and currently has over 1,000 domestic and international members.
It holds two academic conferences annually (spring and fall) and two seminars (winter and summer), producing marketing researchers who integrate theory and practice. The association also continues industry-academia cooperation by awarding marketing grand prizes to CEOs and companies with outstanding marketing achievements.
Professor Gwak Junsik, who assumed the position of the 31st president, said, “I will strive to jump (J.U.M.P) the Korean Marketing Management Association into a society that is Joyful, Useful, has high Membership loyalty, and creates Performance.”
He added, “At the association level, I hope to support local brand marketing to help local brands grow into national brands and eventually global brands.”
Professor Gwak has served as AE at Corad, director of the R&DDB Marketing Research Institute, head of the Department of Business Administration at Dongseo University, director of the Student Employment Support Office, and editor-in-chief of the Korean Marketing Management Association. He has published papers and books related to branding and behavioral economics and is currently also serving as the dean of the Innovation Challenge School Q College within Dongseo University.
