Kim Geon-hee and Mrs. Kishida View Baekja at Leeum Museum of Art

First Lady Kim Keon-hee, wife of President Yoon Suk-yeol, visited the Leeum Museum of Art located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the 8th with Yuko Kishida, wife of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, the spokesperson Lee Do-woon conveyed in a written briefing.


The first ladies of South Korea and Japan jointly viewed the exhibition "Joseon White Porcelain, the Nobleman's Aspiration" held at the Leeum Museum of Art. At the event, Mrs. Kim said, "Six Japanese institutions, including the Tokyo National Museum and the Japan Folk Crafts Museum, lent white porcelain for this exhibition," adding, "It is an exhibition of cultural exchange and harmony achieved through cooperation between the two countries."


She further added, "I hope that even richer exchanges will take place in various fields between the two countries in the future."


In response, Yuko Kishida, wife of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, reportedly expressed her happiness that exchanges between South Korea and Japan are progressing.


Mrs. Kim and Mrs. Kishida also toured works by Japanese artists held in the Leeum Museum of Art's collection.


On that day, Mrs. Kim told Mrs. Kishida, who was returning to Japan, "We had a pleasant time meeting in both Japan and Korea in a short period." Mrs. Kishida responded by expressing her hope to meet again during the upcoming G7 summit held next weekend in Hiroshima, Japan.


Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Mrs. Yuko Kishida, who visited South Korea for a two-day working visit starting on the 7th, completed their schedule and returned to Japan on the same day.
