Double Media Co., Ltd.'s internet broadcasting platform, Panda TV, announced that it will conduct a 'Smishing Damage Eradication Campaign' to create a clean broadcasting culture.
Through this eradication campaign, Panda TV suggested smishing damage prevention methods, emphasizing caution when clicking URL links in text messages or messenger conversations.
It is essential to disable the installation option for apps from unknown sources, and it is recommended not to install apps outside of Play Store or One Store.
Never click on URL addresses in text messages or messenger conversations from unknown senders or unclear sources. Even if the URL comes from an acquaintance, it must be verified by phone.
Avoid calling phone numbers provided in payment notification texts. Most of these are voice phishing inducement messages, so consultation should be conducted through the customer service phone number on the back of the card or on the card company's official website. Additionally, using the free spam filtering services provided by each telecommunications company is also a good method.
A Panda TV official stated, “As the one-person media and platform market expands recently, smishing damage incidents are also increasing. We launched this campaign to eradicate such damage through preventive guidelines.”
Meanwhile, Panda TV is a platform where personal live broadcasts and viewing are possible, allowing users to freely enjoy various genres of live broadcasts such as communication, games, and music on PC and mobile.
