A driver in her 50s who collided with a police car dispatched in response to a drunk driving report has been apprehended.
The Gwangju Western Police Station announced on the 7th that they have detained and are investigating a woman in her 50s, identified as A, on charges of colliding with road facilities and a police vehicle (including obstruction of official duties).
A is accused of ignoring a police officer's stop signal and crashing her passenger car into a patrol car at an intersection in Yangdong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 8 p.m. the previous day.
She first hit a central divider on a road in Gwangsan-gu and fled, but stopped only after crashing into a patrol car that was blocking an anticipated escape route.
A's blood alcohol concentration was measured at a level warranting license cancellation.
The police plan to determine the course of action regarding A's custody after accurately investigating the details of the accident.
