Seongbuk-gu (District Mayor Lee Seung-ro) held various events where children are the main characters to celebrate the 101st Children's Day.

On Children's Day, the district opened the mayor's office to children and adolescents. For this one day a year, children were given the opportunity to become the mayor representing Seongbuk-gu and nurture their dreams. Ten teams of children, adolescents, and families who applied in advance participated to experience how the office handles tasks for residents, including a mayor appointment ceremony and document approval.

On this day, the one-day mayors received reports on school zone safety facility installation and road safety measures, and signed approval documents.

Kim Yoona (5th grade elementary), who became the mayor for the day, said, "It was very exciting and enjoyable to come to the district office and directly hear explanations and experience what happens in our neighborhood and school."

A theater outing event for the whole family was also held. At Arirang Cine Center, the play 'Pinocchio' was screened for free on the morning of Children's Day, and an indoor playground was prepared where the whole family enjoyed play experiences such as sports bounce and Viking seesaw.

Lee Seung-ro, mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, "We prepared various events where our children, who will lead the future, can unleash their infinite potential and latent energy. Although outdoor events were reduced due to unexpected weather on this much-anticipated day for children, many cultural events that the whole family can enjoy throughout Family Month, including the 'Seongbuk Youth Festival,' 'Seongbuk On Family Happiness Playground Festival,' and 'World Food Festival Nurimasil,' are fully prepared, so we hope for much interest and anticipation."

Seongbuk-gu had planned various cultural experience programs such as performances at Hansung University Entrance Station Fountain Square on Children's Day, but due to forecasted rain accompanied by strong winds, outdoor activities were inevitably canceled for safety reasons.
