Meeting of 53-Year-Old Prestige Whiskey and Fine Art
First Unveiling at 'Art Busan 2023'
Pernod Ricard Korea is drawing attention by showcasing the Pinnacle Collection of the prestige whiskey brand Royal Salute, valued at over 100 million KRW, at ‘Art Busan 2023,’ one of the top three art fairs in Korea.
On the 4th, Pernod Ricard Korea unveiled the premium limited-edition whiskey ‘Royal Salute Forces of Nature by Kate MccGwire,’ created in collaboration with world-renowned British sculptor Kate McGuire.
‘Royal Salute Forces of Nature by Kate MccGwire’ is a premium limited edition set from Royal Salute’s Pinnacle Collection, featuring a 53-year-old whiskey that offers the finest blending expertise and flavor, paired with ‘Paragon,’ an artwork inspired by the whiskey and completed by the artist under the theme of ‘The Power of Nature.’ Only 21 sets are available worldwide, with just one presented domestically. Additionally, ‘Plethora,’ another collaborative piece with McGuire that captures the sublime nature of the whiskey-making process, is specially exhibited, opening a new chapter in the innovative fusion of prestige whiskey and fine art.
This edition is the first work of the art project ‘Art of Wonder,’ newly launched by Royal Salute to pay tribute and respect to the fields of art and design, realms of creativity and innovation. The project was planned to convey the unique values of Royal Salute’s aged lineup?such as respect for time, rarity, contemporary blending, and artistic creativity?in a new way through collaboration with the most acclaimed contemporary artists. Through this project, Royal Salute plans to continuously present the Pinnacle Collection with a more contemporary sensibility, delivering a powerful synergy and wonder created by the harmony of skilled craftsmanship and artistry.
Furthermore, during Art Busan, Pernod Ricard Korea will offer Royal Salute’s 21-year lineup by the glass at the Royal Salute exhibition booth, providing visitors with the opportunity to enjoy the finest artworks alongside the best whiskey.
Miguel Pascal, Executive Director of Marketing at Pernod Ricard Korea, stated, “Not only the works by McGuire exhibited at Art Busan but also the value of time and nature embodied in the 53-year whiskey, the transparent crystal decanter containing the whiskey, and the handcrafted premium wooden case?all elements will present the utmost beauty and wonder.”
Art Busan 2023, starting with a VIP opening on this day, will be held on a record scale until the 7th at the entire first exhibition hall of BEXCO in Haeundae-gu, Busan, with participation from 146 galleries across 22 countries.
