Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City plans to consolidate the previously bifurcated operations of the Economic Comprehensive Support Center and the Self-Employed Support Center.
On the 2nd, Buk-gu announced that it will hold a plaque unveiling ceremony for the 'Economic Field Support Team' on the 3rd at the Hudson Knowledge Industry Center in the Advanced 2nd Phase Industrial Complex.
Since the launch of the 7th local government, Buk-gu has established the 'Economic Comprehensive Support Center' at industrial sites to discover and implement visiting support measures for small and medium-sized enterprises. In early 2020, it opened the nation's first 'Self-Employed Support Center' and has been carrying out customized policies for small business owners, achieving various results.
Not stopping there, earlier this year, Buk-gu upgraded and organized the 'Economic Field Support Team' at the national level for comprehensive and specialized support, and unified the individual tasks of the existing Economic Comprehensive Support Center and Self-Employed Support Center into two departments and six teams: the Small Business Support Division and the Industrial Complex Support Division.
As a result, Buk-gu explained that by promoting all economic-related tasks such as grassroots neighborhood economy revitalization, industrial complex structural advancement, SME support, and fostering drones and the 4th industrial revolution in one space, it expects synergy through high accessibility to the integrated field infrastructure of industry-academia-research-government collaboration.
In addition, to minimize civil complaints due to the relocation of the Small Business Support Division, a separate 'Small Business Comprehensive Information Center' will be operated on the first floor of the main office.
A Buk-gu official said, “Through the operation of the Economic Field Support Team, we can listen to the voices of not only SMEs but also small business owners on-site and implement comprehensive field administration for the livelihood economy,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to build Buk-gu as the number one district for revitalizing the livelihood economy.”
