Catholic Priests Criticize Yoon's US Visit: "Nuclear Sharing Is Like Saying Let's Share Wives"

The Catholic Priests' Association for Justice and the Justice and Peace Committee of the Gwangju Archdiocese commented on President Yoon Seok-yeol's achievements during his visit to the United States, stating, "For him (President Yoon), the center of the world, the entirety of the world, is only Japan and the United States," and added, "If it is for Japan, if it is what the United States wants, he is prepared to offer everything without hesitation, even if it means cutting flesh, scraping bone, or stabbing his own foot. A once sound country is quietly falling apart," on the 1st.

In a statement released that day, they claimed, "Although the media is keeping quiet, all economic indicators are plummeting, the national finances are collapsing, yet the person called the president just keeps repeating the phrase 'a strong Korea-US-Japan security alliance' and wanders around in all directions."

A national mass for the current affairs, hosted by the Catholic Priests' Association for Justice, was held on the afternoon of March 20 at Pungnammun Square in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, calling for the overthrow of prosecutorial dictatorship and the resignation of the corrupt pro-Japanese dictatorship.

Regarding President Yoon's visit to the U.S., they criticized, "Since there was already a contract for $100 billion, a whopping 133 trillion won in investment, the White House and Congress responded with smiles and applause, but due to American spite, the semiconductor, battery, and electric vehicle issues, which were all ruined, were not even mentioned, and the actual investment received was only $5.9 billion, or 8 trillion won."

They also strongly criticized the so-called 'security achievements' touted by the presidential office.

They said, "The president proudly said, 'So what if it is? We achieved the practical nuclear sharing,' but then a senior White House official stepped forward and said, 'This is not nuclear sharing!' The presidential office, which frequently fabricates falsehoods and lies, mumbles that 'there is no difference in perception between Korea and the U.S.,' so which side is spreading fake news?"

They further stated, "Even if you don't understand the 'nuclear umbrella,' believing that 'nuclear sharing,' something that can be given and received, exists in the world is utterly absurd," and metaphorically added, "It might be better to just say, 'Let's share a husband or wife together' instead."

They said, "The miracle Korea, which achieved unprecedented growth, is now entering an unprecedented decline, reminding us of the 'mad rush of two thousand pigs to their death in the water' (Mark 5:13)," and added, "Once again, the time has come for the most rational group in history to emerge."

Meanwhile, on the evening of the 1st at 7 p.m., they will hold a 'Mass for the Current Situation to Restore Sovereignty and Demand the Resignation of Pro-Japanese Traitor Prosecutorial Dictator Yoon Seok-yeol' at the 5·18 Democratic Square in Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.

Earlier, on the 10th, the Catholic Priests' Association for Justice held a 'Monday Prayer Meeting for the Current Situation' near Seoul City Hall, demanding the immediate resignation of President Yoon Seok-yeol.

In the statement distributed that day, the priests described President Yoon as "a mercenary who is endlessly servile to the strong and endlessly ruthless to the weak," and referred to him as "Mr. Yoon Seok-yeol" instead of "President Yoon Seok-yeol."
