Manhwa Promotion Agency and Italy's Napoli Comic Con Join Hands for Exchange and Cooperation

The Korea Manhwa Contents Agency announced on the 1st that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the organizing committee of 'Napoli Comicon,' the largest comic festival in Italy, to promote exchange and cooperation in the comic industry sector.

The signing ceremony held on the 28th at Napoli Comicon in Italy was attended by Shin Jong-chul, President of the Korea Manhwa Contents Agency, and Claudio Curcio, General Director of Napoli Comicon.

Through this agreement, both organizations will collaborate on ▲program exchanges between the Bucheon International Comics Festival and Napoli Comicon ▲exchanges involving comic artists, experts, industry stakeholders, exhibitions, academic conferences, and comic content ▲various projects aimed at spreading comic culture and promoting the industry ▲and efforts to revitalize exchanges of diverse cultural contents such as comics, films, and K-pop.

Now in its 26th year, Napoli Comicon is considered one of the top five largest content festivals in Europe. It has recently gained attention as a rapidly growing festival through various projects across Europe and active international exchanges.

Shin Jong-chul, President of the Korea Manhwa Contents Agency, stated, "As interest in Korean culture has increased in Italy over the past five years, we will continue to support Korean artists and companies through various programs to help Korean comic content enter the Italian market. In 2024, we plan to hold a webtoon exhibition at Napoli Comicon and promote Korean culture centered on comics and films from the cultural city of Bucheon."
