Jeong Gi-seon "As CEO of a defense company, grateful to families of US veterans"

Visit to Alabama Transformer Factory and Atlanta Corporation during U.S. Trip

Jung Ki-sun, President of HD Hyundai, encouraged employees during his visit to local subsidiaries in Alabama while on a trip to the United States.


On the 30th, HD Hyundai announced that President Jung visited HD Hyundai Electric's transformer plant in Montgomery, Alabama, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment, HD Hyundai Infracore, and HD Hyundai Electric subsidiaries in Atlanta, Georgia, to inspect the sites and hold meetings with employees.


President Jung confirmed that six family members of Korean War veterans are working at the HD Hyundai Electric transformer plant and met with them to express his gratitude and respect. After the meeting, he also made a surprise proposal to invite these employees to Korea.


President Jung said, "As the CEO of a defense company, I have always been grateful for the courage and sacrifice of the veterans," adding, "I hope this will be an opportunity to show them the advanced development of the Republic of Korea, which they protected at the risk of their lives."

Jeffrey War, the son of a Korean War veteran who has been working at HD Hyundai Electric's Alabama subsidiary since 2012, said, "I am very happy to receive such an unexpected gift," and added, "If my father were alive, he would be very pleased to see the developed Korea."


Established in 2011, HD Hyundai Electric's Alabama subsidiary has a production plant covering 38,678㎡ (11,700 pyeong) and an annual production capacity of 21,000 MVA, employing a total of 381 employees. In 2020, HD Hyundai Electric also established a sales-dedicated subsidiary in Atlanta.


HD Hyundai's construction equipment affiliates, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment and HD Hyundai Infracore, also operate subsidiaries in Atlanta. HD Hyundai Construction Equipment's North American subsidiary operates a parts supply center covering 14,100㎡ (4,270 pyeong), while HD Hyundai Infracore operates a PDC and construction equipment assembly center covering 12,400㎡ (3,750 pyeong), as well as a performance testing ground covering 82,600㎡ (25,000 pyeong).
