T'way Air Expands Southeast Asia Routes... New Service to Bangkok Don Mueang

T'way Air is further expanding its air routes to Southeast Asia.

On the 28th, T'way Air announced the launch of new routes from Cheongju to Don Mueang and from Incheon to Don Mueang.

With these new routes, T'way Air has expanded the number of routes connecting Korea and Bangkok, Thailand to four, following the existing Incheon~Suvarnabhumi and Daegu~Suvarnabhumi routes. Don Mueang Airport, located north of Bangkok, is situated at a similar distance to the city center as Suvarnabhumi Airport to the east.

In particular, popular travel destination Bangkok can now be easily accessed through Cheongju International Airport. It is expected that travel convenience for passengers from the nearby metropolitan and central regions will greatly improve.

The reservation rates for the first flights to Bangkok Don Mueang via Cheongju and Incheon were 98% and 93%, respectively. Since May, the reservation rates have continued to rise, currently recording 52% and 68%, respectively.

To commemorate this, T'way Air held a ceremony at Cheongju Airport attended by Kim Gong-deok, the head of Cheongju Airport, and the crew of the inaugural flight on the Cheongju~Bangkok Don Mueang route.

Kim Gong-deok, head of Cheongju Airport at Korea Airports Corporation, said, "We congratulate T'way Air on launching its second international route from Cheongju Airport following the Cheongju~Da Nang route. We expect this to open the way for new international routes and the resumption of services at Cheongju International Airport, starting with T'way Air."

Actively expanding routes through regional airports, T'way Air launched a regular Cheongju~Da Nang route in January. Following the launch of the Cheongju~Bangkok Don Mueang route, new routes to Osaka, Japan, and Nha Trang, Vietnam, are scheduled to begin in June. The airline plans to actively contribute to the revitalization of Cheongju International Airport.

The Incheon~Don Mueang route will be operated by the B737-8 model, a next-generation eco-friendly aircraft featuring lightweight seats, USB charging ports, and mobile device holders, providing a comfortable cabin environment and convenience. A T'way Air official stated, "In line with the growing travel demand, we will continue to expand routes through regional airports and lead efforts to enhance customers' air travel convenience."
