Sahmyook University-Guri City Dahamkke Dolbom Center, Care Network Establishment MOU

The Glocal Social Innovation Center at Sahmyook University announced on the 27th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Guri City Dahamkke Care Center to establish a local community care network.

Through the Sahmyook Village Project, which involves Sahmyook University students, they plan to provide care services to the center, aiming to improve the quality of care programs.

Sahmyook Village is a student-participatory social contribution project promoted by Sahmyook University as part of the University Innovation Support Project.

Students directly develop care services that solve local community issues and register them on the platform (Village Connecting Hearts) to match with local beneficiaries. Last year, 103 students developed 11 care services and provided services to 150 beneficiaries.

Among the Sahmyook Village clubs, Together Environment operated environmental education programs such as upcycling kit production and plogging at Guri City Dahamkke Care Center throughout last year, receiving great responses from children and parents.

Based on these achievements, the two organizations signed the MOU to expand the scope of future cooperation. In addition to the existing Together Environment club, they plan to research, develop, and provide creative care services that utilize students' majors and talents based on additional demand surveys.

Choi Kyungcheon, director of the Glocal Social Innovation Center at Sahmyook University, said, "Through cooperation with Dahamkke Care Center, we hope the Sahmyook Village Project will become a model case of student-centered social contribution activities and serve as an opportunity for the university and local community to grow together."
