Search and Seizure Conducted from 10:30 AM on the Same Day
The police investigating the officetel lease deposit fraud case that occurred in Dongtan New Town, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, have launched a forced investigation, including a search and seizure of the landlord couple's residence.
The Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Unit of the Southern Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency began conducting a search and seizure at the scene from 10:30 a.m. on the 27th, dispatching about 10 investigators to search the suspects' residence and the real estate agency where transactions took place.
The search and seizure are being carried out at three locations, including the couple's home, who own 268 officetels in Hwaseong Dongtan and Suwon, as well as the home and office of the real estate agent couple who were effectively conducting rental transactions on their behalf with a power of attorney.
A police official stated, "Once the analysis of the evidence is complete, we plan to summon the couple for questioning."
