Duzon B&CT, an affiliate of Duzon ICT Group, announced on the 27th that the unprecedented companion land "Gangajisup" is entering its full-scale grand opening season in May, the month of family. With fresh content for learning, enjoyment, and interaction, as well as diverse infrastructure, it is expected to become a landmark that newly presents the concept and awareness of companion culture.
Registered officially with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the first dog museum, Gangajisup Museum is a comprehensive education and exhibition space on companion culture that guides visitors through the long history of coexistence between dogs and humans, the characteristics of pets, and the formation of proper relationships from various perspectives. It offers a unique viewpoint to understand companion culture through abundant materials, videos, interactive elements, and experiential programs.
The diverse experience zones spread across vast nature provide a space where the whole family can enjoy time with their dogs. True to its name, Gangajisup harmoniously forms a forest with a wide dog exercise yard, swimming pool, walking trails, pond, and caf? spread over 135,000㎡ (about 40,000 pyeong) against the backdrop of Chuncheon’s pristine nature.
First, Gangajisup Hill is a grassy plaza where dogs can run and play together. The pond reflecting the changes of the four seasons and its surrounding trail mark the starting point of the birch tree walking path leading to the summit of Gangajisup. The entire walking course is covered with palm mats and includes nose work spots to consider the dogs’ comfort. There are two large exercise yards where dogs can be off-leash and a caf? with a menu exclusively for dogs.
The Nature Pool, a dog-friendly swimming pool, will officially open this summer with convenience facilities such as dog-only showers and drying rooms, as well as a dog-friendly restaurant. The two separate pools equipped with bungalows, sunbeds, and parasols operate on a reservation basis, with days designated separately for large dogs and small to medium-sized dogs to ensure safety.
Additionally, systematic training education and professional staff are Gangajisup’s pride. Most of the dog trainers here have undergone advanced overseas programs and customized training courses and hold international certifications in the dog field. The professional pool of personnel who train, protect, and manage dogs, along with expert training programs that nurture these professionals, form the foundation for Gangajisup to lead advanced companion culture.
Meeting global standards in operational capability and facility specifications, Gangajisup hosts various international competitions. The KDDN (Korea Disc Dog Nationals) Championship, the Korean regional qualifier for the US Disc Dog Nationals (USDDN), a representative international dog sports competition, will be held again this year at Gangajisup following last year. Equipped with a large seminar room, special lectures are held throughout the year, and in May, a seminar on oriental veterinary medicine will be conducted by the world-renowned animal oriental rehabilitation education institution, Chi University from the United States, targeting domestic veterinarians.
Gangajisup is conducting Korea’s first dog art project to allow the presence of dogs to be viewed through various artistic perspectives. While continuously introducing artworks themed on dogs, the seventh project, a special exhibition titled "Mountain. Mummer and Me" by artist Lee Isu, is currently underway. Various campaigns for establishing proper companion culture are also being carried out, including animal registration campaigns to prevent abandonment, invitation events for underprivileged companion families, and volunteer activities at dog shelters.
A representative from Duzon B&CT stated, “For dogs to coexist with our society as members of the family, it is important to consider not only dogs and their owners but also the participation and awareness shift of non-pet owners.” They added, “Gangajisup is not merely a space for dogs but will continue efforts to lead proper companion culture and promote a happy journey for both dogs and people.”
