Courses from Dongseo University have been selected in the “2023 Korean Massive Open Online Course (K-MOOC) Operation Project” competition hosted by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education.
The individual courses selected in 2023 are ▲Introduction to Korean Arts and Design (Professors Yoon Ji-young and Jang Ju-young), ▲Management Stories in Everyday Life (Professor Gong Hee-sook), and ▲Mathematics for Beginners: Visual Mathematics (Professor Lee Min-ah), totaling three courses.
Prior to the competition, the Dongseo University Distance Education Center operated a K-MOOC consulting program to provide consulting on course development plans, resulting in all three courses being selected in the competition.

The course “Introduction to Korean Arts and Design” is structured to compare Eastern and Western, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese, and East Asian visual arts, allowing learners to understand Korean culture through various artwork examples and visual materials. It also includes field trips or online tours to experience Korean culture.
The course “Management Stories in Everyday Life” is designed to enable learning about wise consumer activities, rational decision-making design, the roles of companies and managers, changing companies and environments, and international management strategies through newspapers and broadcasts.
Lastly, the course “Mathematics for Beginners: Visual Mathematics” is designed for learners with insufficient basic math skills to develop the ability to solve problems mathematically.
The newly selected courses will be available for free on the K-MOOC platform starting this September.
Since its first selection of individual K-MOOC courses in 2018, Dongseo University has offered courses in various fields, and currently, two courses are ongoing: ▲Practical Typography (Professor Kim Kyung-won) and ▲About Love: Learning Sex and Gender through Science (Professor Park Hye-young).
