The Seoul Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (Director Hwang Yoon-kyung, hereinafter referred to as Seoul Center) is recruiting startups to participate in the "2023 Public-Private Cooperation Open Innovation 4th Industrial Sector" project, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2023.
This project aims to promote innovative growth by supporting the establishment of optimal cooperation systems, such as discovering collaboration partners between large corporations and startups. The Seoul Center has been conducting this project annually since 2020. This year as well, the project aims to provide large corporations with opportunities to utilize startups' ideas or technologies, and to offer startups a foundation for growth based on collaboration and support from large corporations.
This year’s project consists of a total of six tasks, with six large corporations and public institutions participating in the fields of "Digital Transformation," "Artificial Intelligence," and "ESG Social" to present challenges that need to be addressed.
The "Digital Transformation" tasks include ▲DL E&C’s "Application of Digital Transformation in Songsan Green City West District Phase 1 Section 1," ▲Korea Housing Finance Corporation’s "Big Data-based Housing Finance Platform Construction," and ▲Hotel Lotte Lotte World’s "Real-time Theme Park Analysis (Space, Visitors) Solution Proposal."
The "Artificial Intelligence" tasks include ▲Daekyo’s "Development of AI-based Foreign Language Pronunciation/Grammar Evaluation Solution," and ▲Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s "Development of Digital Solutions for Disease, Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment Using AI."
The "ESG Social" task includes ▲One Store’s "Development of ESG Mobile Application for Solving Social Issues."
Startups selected as final winners in this project will receive up to 100 million KRW in commercialization funds and support for technology development (R&D) linkage, as well as opportunities to collaborate with demand companies (large corporations).
Startups wishing to participate in this project can apply through the K-Start website by 16:00 on Wednesday, May 10.
Meanwhile, on April 13, the Seoul Center held a live online briefing session on its official YouTube channel with representatives from participating large corporations, introducing the tasks to prospective participants and providing a time for communication including real-time Q&A. The video can be viewed on the "Seoul Center for Creative Economy and Innovation" YouTube channel.
