A man in his 70s accused of killing an acquaintance at a temple in Seoul has been indicted while in custody.
The Criminal Division 2 of the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Lee Young-hwa) announced on the 25th that Mr. A (72, male) was indicted in custody on charges of murder and violation of the Stalking Punishment Act.
Mr. A is accused of repeatedly striking Mr. B (65) on the head with a blunt weapon at the restaurant of Hakrimsa Temple on Suraksan Mountain in Seoul at around 5:26 a.m. on the 31st of last month, resulting in Mr. B's death.
Mr. A is also charged with unilaterally expressing affection and repeatedly demanding meetings despite Mr. B's clear rejection.
Immediately after the crime, Mr. A reported himself to 112, and the police arrested him 15 minutes after the incident. It is reported that Mr. A told the police he committed the crime because Mr. B had mistreated him during his four years of volunteer work.
